Join us via Zoom at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6 for a Photo Talk and Critique Night.
This friendly, informal event gives club members an opportunity to share photographs they are working on and receive thoughtful feedback, constructive criticism, and suggestions for improving their images. Our goal is to encourage creativity and help everyone leave having learned something new. Honest feedback is welcome; harsh or disrespectful criticism is not.
Each photographer will share a photograph of their own and explain what they are trying to do with it.
Club members will then have an opportunity to ask questions and discuss:
- What makes the photograph successful
- What may distract from its impact or message
- How the image might be strengthened
- Other creative approaches the photographer could consider
A Talk Leader will guide the conversation, encourage participation, and keep the discussion moving. The leader’s role is to facilitate the discussion—not to present the photographs or provide all the comments and critiques.
When the discussion has run its course, the Talk Leader will move to the next participant. We will rotate through the participants one photograph at a time so that everyone has an opportunity to share.
If we have a lot of participants, photographers will be limited to one photograph each. Time permitting, we will go through the rotation again for more photographs. Members should be prepared to share up to three digital images. There is no theme, so anything goes!
Photo Talk Night is open to all paid club members in both the Novice and Unlimited categories.
