The deadline is approaching for submitting digital copies of your images for the digital competition on Light and Shadows. All submissions must be turned in via the portal by noon on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. The competition will be held this Thursday, October 10 at 7:00pm, Severna Park Baptist Church. The competition will be streamed live via Facebook Live, but many of us will be present at the church for the competition.

The contest theme is “Light and Shadows“

This theme emphasizes the use of dynamic lighting, and by extension shadows to create mood and composition. It is not about the source of light, but rather its effect. Examples may include but are not limited to beams of light in dust, broken light filtering through trees or window blinds, “Rembrandt” portrait lighting, and the shadows they create.  The shadows created should also be a considered subject. Remember that images must adhere to the theme, be sized to 2048 pixels on the longest side, and named properly. If this is your first use of the submission portal, you’ll need to set up an account, and the portal will remember you once you’ve done that.

Remember, you can submit up to three digital images for the competition. The judge will award first, second, third, and fourth place prizes plus 10% honorable mentions.
