Mentor Signup

We all have skills and it’s time to give back. Share Your Experience.

You do not need to know everything about photography to be a good mentor.

If you have knowledge or experience in one or more areas of photography, and you are willing to patiently share it with another club member, we encourage you to volunteer as an Arundel Camera Club mentor.

Mentoring might be as simple as helping someone understand their camera settings, reviewing a few photographs, demonstrating a Lightroom technique, meeting for a photo walk, or explaining how you prepare images for club competition.

Who Can Be a Mentor?

Mentors must be Arundel Camera Club members with an active paid membership.

A mentor should:

  • – Have experience in at least one photographic subject or skill
  • – Be willing to provide friendly and constructive guidance
  • – Communicate clearly about availability and expectations
  • – Respect different experience levels, goals, equipment, and artistic styles
  • – Notify the mentee if plans or availability change
  • – Follow the Arundel Camera Club’s standards of conduct

How Much Time Is Required?

There is no fixed time commitment. You and your mentee will decide what works best.

A mentoring relationship might involve:

  • – A single session devoted to a specific question
  • – Several meetings focused on developing a particular skill
  • – Occasional conversations at club meetings
  • – Online image reviews or editing demonstrations
  • – A photo walk, field trip, or hands-on shooting session
  • – Ongoing guidance over a mutually agreed-upon period

You are always free to decline a match or end a mentoring relationship if your availability changes or the match is not working well.
