Next week our very own Brian Flynn will give a talk on “The Why Of Photography.”

I thought it might be helpful to describe the program I have prepared for our next ACC meeting entitled The Why Of Photography. Last year, I was asked to do a program based on my books that blend photography and text (there are now three). Several years ago, I did such a presentation following the release of the first book. We have many new members since that time but still I did not want to repeat the same program/content. So, while I will talk about the nature and rational for the books, I plan to make that one of several elements in a discussion about why so many of us find photography, and the projects and activities stemming from it, such a passion. While I will use my experience as examples, I envision the program as having lots of discussion that encouraging members to consider their own motivations and explore new opportunities.
