How to Prepare Your Prints:

  1. Edit Your Photo
Edit your image as you would for any digital contest and save it on a thumb drive or other storage device. You don’t need to convert it to a specific format—RAW, JPG, or any other format should work.
  2. Crop to Your Desired Size
Crop your image to the size you plan to print, such as 11×14, 11×16, or 11×11, especially if you’re preparing it for competition. Not sure how to crop correctly? We’ll be happy to explain it!
  3. Bring a Mat (Optional)
If you plan to mat your photo, consider bringing it along. Pre-cut mats often have slightly smaller openings than their stated sizes, so double-check that all important parts of your photo will fit within the mat’s visible area.

What We’ll Provide:

  • At least three printers will be available.
  • A variety of paper sizes and types, as well as inks, will be on hand.
  • We’ll have a small assortment of tools and materials for matting, including rulers, scotch tape, Velcro squares, and linen hinge tape, should you wish to assemble your prints during the meeting. However, you will need to bring your own mats.

Cost:

We aim to make this event affordable. Members printing photos will reimburse the printer providers for paper, ink, and any other materials used. For instance, a 13″x19″ luster paper sheet might cost around $2, while ink could be approximately $3 or more per print, totaling around $5 (rough estimate). If you use any matting supplies, expect a small additional charge. Please bring an assortment of cash in small denominations as many won’t be able to make change.

Even if you’re not printing this Thursday, we encourage you to attend! These informal, unstructured meetings provide a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow members, share knowledge, and learn from each other.

We look forward to seeing everyone there!
