Please join the club on our January field trip to the Eastern State Penitentiary on Sunday 19 January 2025. This is always a popular field trip. Our current plans are to register for the guided tour starting at 11:00am. The main audio tour, which provides a general overview of the penitentiary’s history, includes ten audio stops and lasts about 40 minutes total. The hours of operations are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Last entry is at 4:00 pm.

America’s Most Historic Prison

Eastern State Penitentiary was once the most famous and expensive prison in the world, but stands today in ruin, a haunting world of crumbling cellblocks and empty guard towers. Its vaulted, sky-lit cells held nearly 85,000 people over its long history, including bank robber “Slick Willie” Sutton and “Scarface” Al Capone.
