The club field trip on Saturday December 14th to Arlington Cemetery has been rescheduled. The cemetery will be teeming with volunteers participating in the annual Wreaths Across America program, so the tour trolley will not be running – some areas may be closed.
After considering various factors, the best alternative is to schedule the Arlington National Cemetary Camera Club Field trip from Saturday December 14th (Wreath laying Closed) to Sunday December 15th meeting at 1 pm.
The wreaths will be in place and provide enhanced photography opportunities. Please follow the email conversation – or discuss in person at the next weekly meeting to connect with others for sharing a ride or visiting the cemetery together. Suggested meeting times will be announced shortly,

The tour trolley has a small fee, and it may be a good idea to reserve your ticket ahead of time.
On 14 December at 12PM the club will be going on a field trip to Arlington National Cemetery. Meet us at 12 noon so we can go on the tour together. Open daily from 8am-5pm. The tour is a live-narrated, hop on/hop off tour making five stops: President John F. Kennedy gravesite, John J. Pershing gravesite, Memorial Amphitheater (Tomb of the Unknown Soldier), Arlington House, Ord and Weitzel Gate (near the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial) and the Coast Guard Memorial. A weekend route includes three additional stops: Sections 55 and 59, the columbarium and niche wall, and the Pentagon Group Burial Marker. On Saturday, Dec. 14, members of the general public can take part in this year’s National Wreaths Across America Day, beginning at 8 a.m. Arlington National Cemetery will be one of more than 4,600 participating locations nationwide. Volunteers may place wreaths at the base of a veteran’s headstone or columbarium niche to honor their legacy and remember their sacrifice. https://www.arlingtoncemetery.mil/WAA
Directions – Arlington National Cemetery is located across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C. at the end of Memorial Avenue, which extends from Memorial Bridge. Arlington is accessible from the major roadways in the D.C. area: Interstate 95, the Capital Beltway (I-495), the George Washington Memorial Parkway and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (I-295).
The cemetery is also a stop on the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s Metrorail system. Arlington Cemetery station, on Metro’s Blue line, is a short walk from the Welcome Center.
Parking – The ANC parking facility is located at the main Memorial Avenue entrance, next to the Welcome Center. $3 per hour, with a daily maximum of $12 a day for passenger vehicles. Parking hours 8am – 6pm.
Security: 100% ID Check – To ensure the safety and security of all visitors and employees, and to comply with Army directive, the cemetery requires all visitors to go through physical security screening, including identification checks and other security measures. Persons who are not U.S. citizens may present a valid passport or U.S. State Department-issued photo identification for entry if requested.
